MLK Blvd. Immunization Clinic Closes
The Multnomah County Health Department Community Immunization Clinic is moving to a new location effective June 22. The clinic, located at 5329 NE Martin Luther King Jr. Blvd (corner of MLK and Killingsworth), will move downtown to 426 SW Stark St., 3rd Floor, where several other Health Department services are located. 
The clinic will be open on Mondays by appointment and Tuesdays on a walk-in basis.  The clinic is accessible by all major bus lines and by MAX. 
The last walk-in clinic at the MLK location will be Tuesday, June 9.  There will be no immunization services on Thursday, June 11 and the week of June 15 during the period of the move.

Urban League Events in June
The Urban League of Portland's Annual Meeting is Tuesday, June 23, from 5:30 - 7 p.m. at The Rose Quarter Rose Room, One Center Court Drive.
New board officers and members will be presented, as well as the new officers for the Urban League Young Professionals. The group's report on the State of Black Oregon will also be highlighted.
RSVP by June 19.
The Urban League is also looking for summer interns and volunteers. Interested people can meet Wednesday, June 17 from 1 to 2:30 p.m. at The Urban League of Portland, 10 N. Russell Street.

Center for Intercultural Organizing Party
The CIO throws its 6th Annual Celebration Friday, June 26 at 6 p.m. at 700 N. Killingsworth St.
The group plans to make two major announcements at the event,  which includes food and more. Tickets: $10-15, sliding scale, you can purchase them at interculturalorganizing. org or at the door.

Hair to Home Celebration
In honor of June being Homeownership Month, the Portland Housing Center and Champions Barbershop are kicking off the "Hair to Home" program.
Champions Barbershop will offer discounted prices on haircuts and other services for filling out surveys and/or signing up for services with Portland Housing center during the month of June.
On the last Saturday of June there will be a celebration of Homeownership Month with music, food and fun, Saturday, June 27, from 9 a.m. – 3 p.m. at Champions Barbershop, 3827 NE MLK Jr. Blvd. For information about the event, call Champions at 971-255-1288, and the Portland Housing Center at 503-282-7744.

Diversity Fest Seeks Vendors
Diversity Fest is coming up in June and is calling out to vendors for international flavors and flair! Diversity Fest is an event designed to celebrate Portland's vibrant multicultural communities. The Fest will feature food, art, entertainment and community resource tables. It will be held at Oaks Amusement Park on Sunday, June 28 from noon to 7 p.m.
Vendor prices include: Tabling booth: $50 shared table for non-profits; $150 for companies with 1-5 employees. Space is limited

Become a Volunteer Emergency Responder
Anyone interested in taking part in the Portland Office of Emergency Management's Neighborhood Emergency Team (NET) classes, community emergency response teams, registration will open in July for the 2009 Fall Neighborhood Emergency Team training. Basic NET Training classes are free.
The in-class sessions for the 2009 Fall semester will be held Wednesday evenings 6 to 9 p.m. and Saturday mornings 9 a.m. to Noon at Portland Fire & Rescue Training Facility, 4800 NE 122 Ave., Portland.
On-line registration will begin July 5. Online registration closes on Sept. 10, unless the class is maxed out before that date.
The first Wednesday class is Sept. 16 through Oct. 28.
The first Saturday class is Sept. 19 through Sept. Oct. 31.
The Final Field Exercise for both class sessions is Saturday, Nov. 7.
Classroom trainings are at the Portland Fire & Rescue Training Facility,
4800 NE 122 Ave. in Portland.
Bring note taking materials and a folder/envelope (8.5X11 inches) or a three-ring binder to your
first class session.
