A free seminar titled "Building Parent Professional Partnerships with Your Child's School" will be held from 9 to 11 a.m. Sept. 11 at the Swindells Center, 830 N.E. 47th Ave, in Portland.
This workshop will cover: Different strategies to improve communication between parents and professionals in the school setting; positive ways to manage conflict; attributes of successful partnerships; opportunities for cooperation between parents and school district personnel; ways to enhance your verbal and non verbal communication; and specific tips for school district professionals and for parents to work together effectively.
This free workshop is provided by the Oregon Parent Training and Information Center the federally funded Parent Training and Information Center for the State of Oregon. Our mission is to educate and support parents, families and professionals in building partnerships that meet the needs of children and youth with the full range of disabilities ages birth to 26.
Benefiting from this workshop will be parents and caregivers of children with special needs and the professionals who work with them.
