Arthur Lee Durham was born December 17, 1931 to Arthur Durham and Lovie Hill. Arthur was born in Durant, Mississippi. He came to the West coast in 1942, with his mother and father who precedes him in death. He attended Jefferson High School and also Roosevelt High School. He joined the Navy in 1950; after serving his time in the Navy, he met his first wife, Dorothy Jean Scurlock. They had two children, Gloria and Wyndell. Arthur married Edna Fay February 14, 1981. He gladly accepted the responsibility of raising 7 step-children. Arthur worked at United States Postal Service were he retired in the early 1980's. Arthur enjoyed watching westerns, camping, fishing and traveling with the Ebony Rose City Travelers RV Club.
Arthur leaves to cherish his lovely memories with his wife Edna Fay, and his children Gloria Bates (Anthony Sr.), Wyndell Durham (Teri), Aletha Summerfield (Larry), Gregory Green, Donald Green (who also precede Arthur in death), Patricia Franklin (Benjamin), Linda Green, Dorine Bromell (Thurman), and Dona Salami (Yomi). Arthur also leaves 25 grandchildren, 18 great-grandchildren and 1 great-great-grandchild; and a host of family and friends.
Arthur will be loved and missed.
A Visitation was held at Caldwell's, Hennessey, Goetsch & McGee Funeral Home on Friday Oct 7, 2011 from 10am-4pm. The funeral service is set for  Tuesday, Oct 11, 2011 at Caldwell's, Hennessey, Goetsch & McGee Funeral Home with a Military Burial at Willamette National Cemetery at 12:30pm.
