Discover the Hoyt Arboretum at a series of "Meet the Trees" events that feature a free activity every Saturday from 11 a.m. to 3 p.m. Aug. 5 to Sept. 30.
The Hoyt Arboretum, 4000 S.W. Fairview Blvd., is Portland's living museum of trees and plants from around the world. Owned by Portland Parks & Recreation, it operates as a nonprofit organization.
"Hoyt Arboretum offers an experience you can't find anywhere else in Portland," said Dan Moeller, arboretum curator. "Over 12 miles of fantastic trails will take you past trees from all over the world — from the Middle East to Africa. On your visit, you are certain to be awed by some of the incredible diversity of the plant kingdom."
