Oregon will have 2 million more residents in 30 years; the equivalent of the entire population of New Mexico will be moving to Oregon by 2040. Where and how do we want to grow as a state?
A state task force on land use planning is looking at the state's future. The task force will ask Oregonians about the future they want.
An "Envision Oregon" workshop is planned from 5:30 to 8:45 p.m. Thursday, Aug. 3, in the Governor Hotel, 614 S.W. 11th Ave. A light dinner will be served at 5 p.m.
To register, visit  www.envisionoregon.org /forms/portland-envision-oregon.
Oregonians who care about Oregon should attend, including students, farmers, homeowners, renters, union members, parents, teachers, business owners, people of faith, retirees and anyone not listed.
The workshop's hosts will be Jo Ann Bowman, of Oregon Action; Lynn Lundquist, Oregon Business Association; Jefferson Smith, Oregon Bus Project; and Bob Stacey, 1000 Friends of Oregon.
