Cornelius Booker is the new Transit Manager for TriMet's Merlo Operations Center in Beaverton.
Booker comes to TriMet with more than 16 years' experience in operations, management, transportation and logistics in large organizations. He recently served as vice president of operations with US FoodService Inc. in Memphis, Tenn. In his new role with TriMet, Booker will lead nearly 300 employees.
"Cornelius Booker brings to TriMet fresh perspectives, powerful analytical skills and relevant experience in several industries," said Michael Ford, director of transportation operations. "I look forward to working with Cornelius to strengthen our support of operators."
Booker's previous experience includes working as director of operations for ADVO Inc., a direct mail media company, and as distribution center manager for Fleming Foods Inc. He also served as a senior logistics officer in the U.S. Army.
Booker has a master's degree in organizational management/administration from Golden Gate University and a bachelor's degree in political science/public affairs from California State University-San Francisco.
