Join Marita Dingus for a personal tour of her new exhibition Marita Dingus: At Home on view in the PACCAR Gallery, on March 9 from noon to 3 p.m., 2300 S Massachusetts Street, Seattle. Following the tour, Marita will conduct a quilt patch project for visitors to record a memorable event in African American history while learning about how the artist was taught traditional quilt-making skills by her mother and conveying the history and influences of traditional African textiles on her artwork.

Objects from Dingus’s home, including her collection of African and Caribbean figures, are the basis of this intimate and revealing exhibition.  In contrast with the gallery setting, a series of photographs taken by Spike Mafford will show how the artist actually lives with her art. The quit workshop and gallery tour cost is $10.

The show runs through April 27. Find out more by calling 206-518-6000 ext 104 or go to www.naamnw.org
