Gov. Tina Kotek announced that Andre Bealer has joined the administration as her director of equity and racial justice. Bealer most recently served as the workforce equity program manager for Metro.

“Andre Bealer has dedicated his career to expanding opportunities and removing barriers so every Oregonian can be successful,” Kotek said. “He brings a steadfast commitment to centering equity in his work, and I look forward to his leadership on our team.”

“I am both thrilled and honored to join Gov.Tina Kotek’s office in the director of equity and racial justice role,” Bealer said. “I am eager to contribute my passion, experience and dedication to advancing social justice and fostering positive change within our communities. This pivotal role underscores Gov. Kotek’s commitment to dismantling systemic inequities, promoting diversity and nurturing a culture where justice is not just an ideal but a lived reality.

“I look forward to collaborating with dedicated colleagues, community leaders and advocates to break down barriers, implement meaningful policies and programs and build a more inclusive tomorrow.

"Together, we will continue to champion inclusivity and forge a path towards a more just and equitable future for all Oregonians."

Bealer has been working in workforce development, project management, policy analysis and community engagement for nearly a decade. While at Metro, Bealer led the advancement of workforce equity initiatives and implemented organization and region-wide equity programs in coordination with public agencies and community organizations. Bealer has also advised on policy development and served as a liaison between the Metro council and state, local and federal agencies during his time in the office of the Metro council president. Bealer has also worked with the National Association of Minority Contractors-Oregon and served as a board member for Verde.
