The Multnomah County Cultural Coalition board is looking for several new members this year. Board members support local communities by awarding grants for cultural activities and advocating for access and funding for arts and culture in Multnomah County.

Board members are volunteers who serve three-year terms, mirrors multifaceted communities and bring diverse perspectives and lived experiences to the board, especially from BIPOC, immigrant/refugee, LGBTQIA+ and disability communities. Artists, culture bearers and others who work in the arts and culture sector are also invited.County residents applying should have experience in any of the following areas:

  • Work in performing arts, media arts, cultural heritage, literary arts, humanities, community events, visual art, or other cultural activities
  • Grantmaking, particularly trust-based grantmaking and improving accessibility for applicants
  • Marketing and outreach to diverse communities in Multnomah County
  • Event planning
  • Multnomah County’s arts ecosystem (e.g. City of Portland, RACC, Oregon Cultural Trust, and other arts and culture funders) and current news, trends, and research efforts in the arts and culture sector
  • Accounting and budgeting.
