The Pacific Northwest Region of the USDA Forest Service will be accepting applications for permanent seasonal jobs from October 19 to November 22, 2023. There are hundreds of entry-level permanent seasonal forestry technician and forestry aid positions available in locations across the nation, including 436 positions across Washington and Oregon.

The Forest Service manages over 193 million acres of the nation’s forests and grasslands, and the jobs are as diverse as the landscapes it manages. Forestry aids and technicians work in a variety of natural resource and recreation functions and can make a difference by helping to reduce the threat of wildfires, improve habitats for wildlife, decrease the spread of invasive plant species, enhance visitor experiences, and more.

Seasonal employment is a path to a lifelong career with the Forest Service and making an impact on managing these landscapes for future generations. Permanent seasonal positions offer a 13/13 schedule, which means employees work 13 pay periods (6 months) and have the remaining 13 pay periods (6 months) off. These positions have career status and may be increased to 18/8 (18 pay periods of work, 8 pay periods off) or a full 26 pay periods of work based on unit needs and funding.

Eligible applicants must be U.S. citizens or nationals who are at least 18 years old.
