Tuesday, Oct. 18, is the Voter Registration Deadline for the Nov. 8 General Election. Ballots will be mailed to voters beginning Wednesday, Oct. 19. All registered voters in Multnomah County will receive a ballot for this election. It is important to make sure you are registered to vote and to keep your registration information up to date so you can receive your ballot as soon as possible.

New Oregon voters with a valid Oregon driver’s license, driving permit or ID can register online at OregonVotes.gov. The online registration deadline is 11:59 p.m. on Oct. 18, 2022.

If you do not have a valid Oregon driver’s license, permit or ID, or if it has expired, you will need to fill out a paper Oregon Voter Registration Card that is available at the U.S. Post Office, any Multnomah County Library location, or the Multnomah County Duniway-Lovejoy Elections Building. You can also print one from the Oregon Secretary of State’s website. The deadline for mailing the Oregon Voter Registration Card is a U.S. Postal Service postmark of Oct. 18, 2022.

Register in person

Voters can also register in-person at the Multnomah County Duniway-Lovejoy Elections Building at 1040 S.E. Morrison St. in Portland or at the Voting Center Express at 600 N.E. 8th St. in Gresham, located inside the Multnomah County East Building. The Voting Center Express is an additional service location that will be open from Oct. 17 through Nov. 8, 2022. Because the Voting Center Express is located inside a healthcare facility, face coverings/masks are required for those over age 5. Multnomah County Elections can accept voter registration forms from any Oregon resident.

Multnomah County Elections will offer extended hours on Oct. 18 at both the Elections Building in Southeast Portland and the Voting Center Express in Gresham. Both locations will be open from 8 a.m. to 7 p.m. The deadline for in-person voter registration is 7 p.m. on Oct. 18, 2022 at both locations.

Voters who will be away from home on Election Day should contact Multnomah County Elections to request an absentee ballot as soon as possible.

Track your ballot

Multnomah County Elections’  Track Your Ballot service is available in multiple languages. You can choose to receive ballot tracking alerts and updates in English, Spanish, Russian, Somali, Vietnamese or Chinese. Alerts indicate whether a ballot has been accepted for counting, or whether it requires further action by the voter. Get a virtual “I Voted” sticker after you return your ballot.

Voters who need assistance can go online, call 503-988-8683 or email elections@multco.us for help with the voting process — including signing up to vote, marking or reading a ballot, updating voter registration information, understanding election rules and the required steps in voting, or any other election-related matter.
