Portland Public Schools (PPS) announced yesterday that it will close Jefferson High School campus today, Wed., Jan. 12, while temporarily transitioning to distance learning starting Thurs., Jan. 13 through at least Wed., Jan. 19 due to a significant increase in the number of COVID-related absences for both students and staff.

District leaders have been meeting regularly with local health officials to monitor the COVID-19 situation, and have been closely tracking data to determine COVID-19’s impact on staff coverage in Jefferson High School.

Additional Information for Jefferson High School:

  • Breakfast and lunch will be offered daily for pickup while students are in temporary distance learning. Families can pick up meals every day from 11:30 a.m. to 1:00 p.m. at the Jefferson cafeteria.
  • This year, students have been issued a PPS Chromebook as part of our 1:1 Chromebook Take Home Initiative. The PPS technical support desk will be available to families and students via support@pps.net or 503-916-3375.

Families who have questions, comments or concerns should reach out to PPS via Let’s Talk.
