Vancouver, Wash. – Individuals interested in starting a career in food service have an exciting new choice – Prep Cook Bootcamp.

The Bootcamp provides four days of hands-on training, workshops and mentoring that lead to employment with a local business.

Prep Cook Bootcamp

Owners of local restaurants Beaches, Bleu Door Bakery, Grains of Wrath, Nom Nom and more than a dozen others have partnered with the workforce system to launch the new “Prep Cook Bootcamp” training for individuals 18 years and older that want a career in the food service industry.

The hands-on portion of the training takes place November 20-23, 2021, and includes knife handling, kitchen safety, basic cooking principles, teamwork, food handler permit and ServSafe certification.

Individuals that successfully complete the workshops and Bootcamp will be interviewed by local companies that are hiring.
