TriMet will be offering free rides from July 3-5 so people can eat, play and roam with ease this holiday weekend. With more destinations opening up, and most COVID-19 restrictions relaxed, it’s a great time to get back out and enjoy what makes the region special. Free rides will begin at the start of service on July 3 and run through the end of the service day at 3 a.m. on July 6. An accidental tap of a Hop card will bring up confirmation of valid fare but there won’t be a charge. TriMet’s ticket machines will also not be accepting purchases during this time and fare boxes will be covered.

Passenger limits are no longer in effect on buses, trains and LIFT paratransit vehicles, so riders won’t have to wait if a vehicle is full. But don’t throw away your masks yet. They’re still required when riding. If riders don’t have them, TriMet will continue to have them available in on-board dispensers. View more information about free rides this Fourth of July here.
