Sweet Jam, a local jazzy breakfast restaurant, will be opening its second location to the public on Thursday, Sept. 14. The restaurant invites guest to enjoy music and a sampling of its menu.

Influenced by southern cuisine, Sweet Jam is the only destination in Portland and Beaverton that offers live entertainment, a daily breakfast menu and unique drinks.

The new Sweet Jam is located at 5237 NE Martin Luther King Jr Blvd. in Portland.

Customers can choose from many different entrees, including Sweet Jam’s famous fried chicken and waffles, a variety of omelets, bananas foster pancakes, and shrimp cheese grits.

“Portland is a vibrant, exciting and bustling city, and I really wanted to open a second Sweet Jam location that would not only encompass that fun atmosphere, but also introduce a cool new concept that many guests had never seen before in this area,” said Sweet Jam owner Frank Taylor.

Chef Jerry Nottage traveled to Portland over a year ago to help bring the restaurant's southern flare to life.

“We are extremely fortunate to have acclaimed Chef Nottage, who prepares superb food as a partner in Sweet Jam,” Taylor continued. “The food is like nothing anyone has tasted before, and the people of Portland really haven’t lived until they’ve tried our famous fried chicken and waffles.”

Sweet Jam’s Portland location on MLK Jr Blvd. is the second of many more that Taylor and Nottage hope to bring to major cities across the U.S.

The first Sweet Jam opened in May 2016 in Beaverton and has received raved reviews. For additional information on Sweet Jam please visit: www.portlandsweetjam.com.
