As part of their Rising Tide Grant Project©, All Classical Portland enjoys a third year as the Official Media Sponsor for Classical Up Close during their 2017 season.

Organized and performed by musicians of the Oregon Symphony Orchestra, this series of FREE chamber music concerts takes place between April 22 and May 7 with events throughout the Portland Metro area, including:

• full-length evening performances in neighborhood venues
• two special children’s concerts including an advance performance on March 29th and one to close the series on May 7th
• “BLITZ”: brief, 30-minute performances in unlikely venues and at unusual hours, meant to meet people where they live, work and play!

The series features a diverse array of venues including Trinity Episcopal Cathedral, Bob's Red Mill Store and Restaurant, the Nordia House, Henry Higgins Boiled Bagels, Powell’s Books, the Hollywood Senior Center, Beaverton City Library, and more.

The new interactive “Event Map” on the Classical Up Close website makes finding concerts in a specific area, by date, or by event paricularly easy. Special guests this season include the magnetic China Forbes of Pink Martini and the incredibly talented Suzanne Nance, vice president of programming at All Classical Portland.

Classical Up Close offers a unique opportunity for Portlanders to enjoy the talents of some of the city’s finest musicians, up close and personal, and for no charge.

The 2017 Classical Up Close season is also made possible by a lead gift from Jordan Schnitzer in honor of his parents, Arlene and Harold Schnitzer.
