PORTLAND, Ore. - Sweet Jam, a new Portland-area hip breakfast restaurant, had its grand opening to the public Thursday, May 19. The restaurant invited guests to enjoy a full bar, music and an extensive menu of wonderful food.

With a southern influence throughout the restaurant, Sweet Jam is the only destination in the Portland and Beaverton area that offers live entertainment, a daily breakfast menu and bar, as well as a dog friendly outdoor patio. More than 200 people attended the Grand Opening. Look through the slideshow below to see photos from the event:

Successful restaurateur, Frank Taylor is the owner of the steakhouse, Portland Prime and now Sweet Jam.

“Portland is a vibrant, exciting, and bustling city, and I really wanted to open a restaurant that would not only encompass that fun atmosphere, but also introduce a cool new concept that many guests had never seen before,” said Taylor. “My hope is that our southern breakfast meets music restaurant is truly a one of a kind place for guests to have delicious meal and a great experience.”

Chef Jerry Nottage traveled to Portland to help bring the new restaurant concept to life. Nottage created the menu to bring a southern flare to Portland.

“We are extremely fortunate to have acclaimed Chef Nottage, who prepares superb food, as a partner in Sweet Jams,” said Taylor. “The food is like nothing anyone has tasted before, and the people of Portland really haven’t lived until they’ve tried our famous fried chicken and waffles.”

Sweet Jam’s Portland is the first of many more planned restaurant locations throughout the United States. Taylor and Nottage hope to open more locations in Michigan, around Texas, and another in Portland.
