What does community mean to you?  What are creative ways to connect and engage as a community? What are different ways of approaching community?

Warner Pacific College hosts an art exhibit titled “Come-Unity,” during the month of April in the Otto L. Linn Library.

An artist reception is scheduled April 16, from 6 - 7:30 p.m. There will be live music, poetry, and interactive art opportunities. Krispy Kreations artist Rusty Weise will even provide an oversized edible work of art; and that is something you can sink your teeth into!

Local artists Eldon Jones III, Lynzee Felder, Susan Rankin, Sunshine Dixon, Kemi Arigbon, Lou Foltz, Joe Linker, Kurumi Conley, Bri Decker, Felicia Capuia, Deborah Loyd, Sue Kopp, Andee Kahlen, Heidi Marble and more.

Co-curator and artist Sunshine Dixon has a history of using creativity to build community. Dixon’s long history supporting people and programs that build community includes time spent with: Urban League, United Way of the Columbia-Willamette, R.E.A.P. Inc., Relay for Life, Red Cross Juneteenth Blood Drive, The Passage to Higher Education, Liberation-Based Healing Conferences, just to name a few. She is equally known for her creativity; as an author, poet, and playwright. Dixon has worked diligently to use creative solutions as a way to address issues and needs in our community.
