Washington State History Museum will celebrate the life of Dr. Martin Luther King Jr. Jan. 18 with an evening of hip hop. For one night Washington State's official history museum will turn into the largest, most diverse showcase of hip hop in Northwest history.
The MUSICA Festival also will include:
Rap, DJ'ing, dance and live band performances. All performance will be family friendly – as well as entertaining. 
Urban hip hop debate performed by High School students who participate in the Northwest Debate Foundation Program.
 A panel discussion on Hip Hop as a social and civil rights movement. The panel will include national and local hip hop artists, government officials, business and community leaders and music industry professionals.
The will include Pierce County Executive's Awards for Excellence in Hip Hop honoring 10 nominee finalists who have impacted their community through:
1. Excellence in Hip Hop
2. Community Service
3. Entrepreneurship
The entire museum will be open to the public during the evening. Exhibits will include: 
• The History of Northwest Hip Hop display and memorabilia
• The History of Northwest civil rights display and memorabilia
• Reverend Dr. Martin Luther King Jr. display and memorabilia
• Graffiti Art exhibit
