Adult Swim to Create Animated 'Black Dynamite'

Star Michael Jai White will be back in the title role; comic book released

If you're a fan of the critically acclaimed blaxploitation spoof "Black Dynamite," you're in for a treat: Adult Swim will be creating an animated series that includes many of the film's creators, as well as "The Boondocks" director Carl Jones.
If you haven't seen "Black Dynamite" … now might be the time to get on the band wagon.

Dr. Thomas LaVeist will speak in Portland on April 7

Why is it that, on average, African Americans tend to get sicker and die younger?
Dr. Thomas LaVeist, Ph.D., the director of the Johns Hopkins School of Medicine's Center for Health Disparities Solutions, will present some of his findings on the topic at 3 p.m. this Thursday, April 7, at the Oregon Convention Center, room F150.
The presentation, "It's the Skin You're In: Why African Americans Live Sicker and Die Younger" will question the conventional wisdom of racial health disparities

Adolescent Angst, Sibling Rivalry Escalate in 'Wimpy Kid'

Geeky Greg Heffley (Zachary Gordon) has resigned himself to returning to Westmore Middle School after spending most of the 6th grade getting picked-on by bullies. At least the scrawny, 98-pound weakling and his beefier best friend, Rowley (Robert Capron), have buried the hatchet, even if they remain social outcasts as they start the 7th.
