NNPA Merit Awards

Publishers from around the country gathered for the 75th Annual National Newspaper Publishers AssociationConvention, from June 16-20 at the Detroit Marriott. The Michigan Chronicle, the state’s largest Black-owned newspaper, served as the convention’s host publisher.

The theme of this year’s convention was “Empowering a New Generation of Leadership.” The five-day conference featured workshops, training sessions, forums, panels and award ceremonies.

The Skanner News received first place for the W.A. Scott, II, Best Use of Photos award and third place for the Best Editorial award. Click on the slideshow below to see pictures from the NNPA Convention.
