Arrested: Silvano Daniel Velasquez

Portland Police Homicide Detectives have arrested 18 year old Silvano Velasquez in connection with the Oct. 11th shooting of Abukar Madey at the Holgate MAX Station.  Madey a 15-year-old Franklin High School student was killed in the attack that also left Alex Ramirez, 22, wounded.

Velasquez is in Multnomah County Jail facing charges of Murder, Attempted Murder, Unlawful use of a Weapon, and Assault in the First Degree. 

Madey and another boy were heading to play basketball when they were shot. 

Abukar MadeyAbukar Madey, 15 was shot and killed on his way to play pickup basketball


A young woman who was seen with Velasquez in a crime stoppers video has been identified and has not been charged at this time in this investigation.
