This Sunday, the World Arts Foundation, Inc. will be holding an Honor Roll Tribute to Portland's African American cultural heritage.

Starting at 3 p.m. May 15 at Maranatha Church, 4222 NE 12th Ave. Paul Knauls – the Mayor of Albina – will host and emcee an afternoon of tribute and musical celebration. After the Maranatha event, the evening will continue at the Conga Club, at Northeast Alberta and Martin Luther King Jr. Blvd. from 7 to 9 p.m.

The program will include live performances from local artists demonstrating an array of music forms – including jazz, gospel, spoken word and song. The World Arts Foundation will be recognizing artists for their service to the community and will award Certificates of Appreciation to artists.

Community members are encouraged to submit names of artists, musicians, composers, band leaders and others – including new and emerging artists – by visiting the World Arts Foundation's website at www.wafinc.org.
