The book, "The Man Behind the Music: Life and Times of David William (O.G. One) Jackson Jr." by Rochell D. "Ro Deezy" Hart chronicles the Portland-based DJ who has rubbed shoulders with some of the music industry's greats.

"In the mid-1980's, the nation was shocked when a child was beaten to death in rural Oregon while under the care of the cult-like group, the Ecclesia Athletic Association.   Eldridge Broussard, the father of the murdered child as well as the leader of the EAA, appeared on national television to defend the group's teachings and excoriate the media for its purported role in the child's death.  Since Broussard's death, the EAA has quietly disbanded, and no one has ever come forward to provide a picture of the day-to-day life of the organization while it was at its peak.  David (DJ O.G. One) Jackson grew to maturity in the confines of the communal living space of the EAA, and his mother was one of the women convicted of the murder of Dana Broussard.   This is his story — one of religious fanaticism, neglect, and ultimately triumphs over adversity," according to the author.

Hart is the author of six different books, a spoken word artist and a community activist. She is the recipient of a 2005 award from Rosa Parks and continues to live in Portland.
