Lillian Lucille Glass has died. She the daughter of the late Allen Glass and Katie (Robinson) Glass, was born in Somerville, Alabama on Sept. 5, 1908.

At an early age she accepted Christ and became a member of First Missionary Baptist Church in Hartselle, Ala. Ms. Glass moved to Portland from Birmingham, Ala. in the early 1940s.

She became a member of Vancouver Avenue First Baptist Church. There she served in the Missionary Department. Ms. Glass worked as a domestic until her retirement in the 1970s, that didn't stop her working spirit. She became a foster grandparent serving for over 15 years at Augustana Lutheran Church, before her health began to fail her. She was a member of the Fleur de Les social group and the Portland Organization of Colored Women for many years. She was predeceased by nine brothers and two sisters. Another brother, Bruce Ozell Glass, died a day after her passing.

Ms. Glass leaves to cherish her memories sister: Lorene Marshall of Portland; sister in-law: Ruth Glass of Portland; nephew: John T. Wiggins, Sr. (Barbara) of Trinity, Ala.; a devoted stepdaughter: Clarice Guildry of Portland; and a host of nieces, nephews, and friends in Portland, Oregon and throughout the USA.

Services were held on Aug. 3 at Vancouver Avenue First Baptist Church.
