On March 28, 2009, Karis Stoudamire of Portland, Ore., wed world-renowned jazz saxophonist Mike Phillips of Mt. Vernon, N.Y., at Westminster Presbyterian Church at a candlelit ceremony in Portland. The bride and groom were serenaded by their friend, the legendary Stevie Wonder with his classics, “You and I” and “Overjoyed.” Karis is a graduate of Saint Mary’s College of California (BS) and Washington State University (MPA). She works in public affairs/corporate fundraising and the groom is a professional musician. The couple resides in Portland.
