The Skanner News 29th Annual Martin Luther King Breakfast featured civil rights icon the Rev. Benjamin Chavis and about 1,000 of the Pacific Northwest’s most connected citizens, at the Oregon Convention Center on Monday, Jan. 19.

Elected officials rubbed elbows with Vanport flood survivors and captains of industry, not to mention local students, VIPs and everyday people.

The International Business Times put The Skanner News King Breakfast on its short list of “Best events to celebrate birthday and life of Martin Luther King Jr around the US.”
