Verdict Reached in Corruption Case of Ex-Detroit Mayor Kilpatrick
Kilpatrick is accused of running a criminal enterprise through the mayor's office to enrich himself through bid rigging and extortion

(CNN) -- A jury has reached a verdict in the public corruption case of former Detroit Mayor Kwame Kilpatrick, a federal court spokesman said Monday.Kilpatrick is accused of running a criminal enterprise through the mayor's office to enrich himself through bid rigging and extortion, and using nonprofit funds for personal gain. Also charged in the case are his father and a friend.
The verdict is expected to be read at about 10:30 a.m. ET. It wasn't immediately clear whether the jury also had reached a verdict for the charges involving his father and the ex-mayor's friend.
Kilpatrick faces multiple charges -- including racketeering, conspiracy, bribery, extortion and fraud -- and could be sentenced to up to 20 years in prison if convicted.
