The City of Portland Bureau of Parks & Recreation is seeking a Central Services Manager. The Central Services Manager is a key leadership and decision-making position that champions new initiatives and may act as a change agent to ensure successful implementation. Central Services is an internal customer service provider for major repairs, maintenance and improvements for a broad range of assets (such as playgrounds, turf, bridges and buildings) within a large, urban parks and recreation system. The selected candidate will manage three supervisors overseeing approximately 80 represented staff in the skilled trades, heavy equipment and maintenance fields. The incumbent must have strong people management skills to create a cohesive, high performance team with a service-oriented work ethic and must be skilled in promoting workplace diversity and creating a positive work environment.
